Moi International Airport
Mombasa is next to the Indian Ocean and is the second-largest city in Kenya. It has a major maritime port and an International Airport gateway to 500 kilometers of lovely white sandy beaches. Thousands of overseas tourists visit the Kenya Coast every year.
- Mombasa is a Sister City of Seattle and Long Beach USA. The city has a population of one million and is located on Mombasa Island which is connected to the mainland to the north by the Nyali Bridge to the south by the Likoni Ferry and to the west by the Makupa Causeway.
- A major intercontinental undersea telecom cable connects Mombasa to East Africa and the rest of the world supporting a fast-growing I. T. and call centre business.
- Mombasa and coast residents are historically Muslim Mijikenda and Swahili peoples. Over the centuries there have been many immigrant craftsmen and traders who settled from Iran the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. The cultural mix is very friendly and polite.
- Traditional dress for the Swahili women is a brightly coloured printed cotton sheet called a kanga but many Muslim women wear a black covering known as a bui bui along with a head covering called a hijaab and sometimes a veil called a nikab. Men traditionally wear a type of sarong which is coloured in bright bands called a kikoi.

A pleasant green world. God's little acre.
There are many exciting and beautiful game parks in Kenya each unique in it's own way. However the Masai Mara offers the higher probability of veiwing a wonderful variety of animals. It is also the only park with regular daily balloon flights.
- The Masai Mara is 800 kilometres from the coast and covers 1? square kilometres consisting largely of well watered grassland with two permanent rivers the Mara and Talek.
- A pleasant green world of lush grass plains at an altitude of 5 500 feet the Mara is cool in the morning and warm by day. Riverine woodland follows the river courses. The hills in the south east of the reserve are covered with forest.
- The Mara represents un-spoilt Africa and teems with wildlife. Karen Blixen world famous author of Out of Africa visited by oxcart in 1912 and wrote “The Air of the African Highlands went into my head like wine and I was all the time slightly drunk with it. The joy of those months in the Mara was indescribable.”
- For a two or three days safari in one game reserve the Masai Mara is therefore the best value for all year round excellent game viewing.

Tropical paradise
Malindi has a long history and is famous as the last sailing point for Vasgo da Gama on his epic voyage around the horn of Africa and then on to India and the Spice Islands
- A Malindi based Swahili ship pilot showed him the way. The pioneering of an eastern sailing route to India opened up world trade and was a milestone on the way to fifteenth century globalization.
- Today Malindi has become a tourist magnet and draws thousands of visitors every year. It is especially popular with Italians many of whom have built private villas to escape the European winter. Malindi is dotted with Gelatarias cafes boutiques bars Casinos and night clubs. Life here is very informal.
- The town is small and the central area still has narrow streets just a short distance from the Vasgo da Gama Memorial.
- The golf course is somewhat dry compared to most well watered Kenya golf greens but the deep-sea fishing is excellent and the hospitality is real but laid back.

Fly past the Majestic Kilimanjaro
Amboseli is 300 kilometers from the Coast and seven hours of hard road travel but only one hour by air with the chance to view Majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro Africa's highest mountain.
- Amboseli has a large game population and is well known for it’s Elephant herds and superb variety of birdlife. All of this makes for a photographer’s paradise. Be prepared for dust and heat.
- Because of it’s small size we recommend a one night stay as sufficient to enjoy this jewel of a park unless you stay at a small privately run luxury camp in which case you may never want to leave. Hemmingway found it hard to go.
- An evocative place of harsh yet timeless beauty with constant change and contrast Amboseli is compressed within an area of only 390 square kilometers.
- Amboseli lies north of the largest East African volcano Mt. Kilimanjaro and at the southern most rangeland of Kenya’s famous cattle ranching warrior tribe the Maasai.

Take a stroll on a heavenly tropical beach.
Diani Beach is simple natural beauty at it's best. This is a perfect place in the sun. The beach is wide long powder white and not overcrowded. It has on a number of occasions been voted into the top 10 beaches worldwide.
- The beach road is set well back and home to a select number of small shopping malls and restaraunts. The pace of life here is slow. Daily routines are given over to relaxation and fun.
- Accomodation ranges from a tent on the beach to an exclusive and expensive private villa with plenty of tourist class hotels all with lovely swimming pools. Zoning rules will rule out multi storey constructions on the beach and Diani is very eco-freindly. Everything here is designed for a relaxed and enjoyable holiday.
- The Colobus Trust has built uniqe aerial walkways so that monkeys can cross the road safely well above the cars passing by underneath. The nearby Shimba Hills is a well run Game Park that in season is home to the Sable and Roan antelope.
- From the Ukunda airfield only a 10 minute drive you can fly to many game parks including Samburu Mara Tsavo West and Amboseli.
